Paramedics called police to the scene after finding the man, aged in his 50s, seriously injured at an address in Lordscroft Lane, Haverhill.

Logan Smith, 18, from Weston-super-Mare, was being taken to hospital at the time of the incident at around 11pm on Sunday.

Lejunae Wood, 42, of Wuppertal, Germany, was arrested on Thursday at Heathrow Airport.

He also strangled the victim and threatened to kill her.
