U.S. President Trump said in an interview at the White House on the 15th that the United States may launch another strike against Iranian nuclear facilities, including the underground nuclear facility at Pickaxe Mountain .

Trump said, “We are keeping an eye on Pickaxe Mountain , and we may have to go there,” adding, “We will try to strike that target and destroy it quickly.” He said the United States would not deploy ground troops in such an operation.

Trump claimed that the U.S. has already inflicted severe damage on Iran’s nuclear infrastructure, but if it were to withdraw before completely eliminating the possibility of Iran acquiring nuclear weapons, the U.S. might have to take military action again in the future.

Trump also indicated that the conflict with Iran would end soon and stated that Iran is currently negotiating with the U.S.

Pickaxe Mountain Nuclear Facility is located near the Natanz nuclear facility in Iran’s central Isfahan Province and is considered one of Iran’s most fortified underground nuclear facilities. Trump has previously threatened on multiple occasions to launch a strike against the underground nuclear facility in Qom. However, Iranian officials have stated that the Qom facility “is empty” and that any U.S. attack on Pickaxe Mountain Nuclear Facility is doomed to fail.
