FIFA Chief Red-cards Chaos Instigators & Game Disruptors

The FIFA President Gianni Infantino has sent a strong message to chaos instigators and game’s disruptors,warning them to abide by the football rules or face serious sanctions.

“If a player or players leave the pitch in protest at a referee’s decision,they will be sanctioned with a red-card”,said Mr. Infantino in a comment on the new regulations adopted by the International Football Association Board (IFAB) during its latest meeting held in Vancouver,Canada.

Any team official who incites players to leave the field of the play will also be dismissed and any team that abandons a match will be forfeited. These changes have been introduced in the wake of the events that marred the 2025 AFCON final held in Morocco. During that match,several Senegalese players left the pitch upon the orders of the coach in protest against a late penalty decision.

The scenes of Senegal’s walkout during the top African tournament have undermined the image of football and the spirit of sportsmanship in the continent.

The FIFA says the new regulations have been taken to protect the integrity of the game and ensure that mutual respect continues to govern football at all levels.
