Defense: Morocco & Mauritania Discuss Military Coordination & Cooperation

Moroccan military delegation,headed by Inspector General of Royal Armed Forces & Commander of the South Zone,Lt. General Mohamed Berrid,is visiting Nouakchott to discuss ways of strengthening military coordination and cooperation with Mauritania top brass.

Upon arrival at the Nouakchott military airport,General Berrid and his accompanying delegation were greeted by Chief of Staff of Mauritania Armed Forces,General Mohamed Ould Fal al-Raïs.

This visit is “part of activities of the joint military commission between the two countries”,says the Mauritanian army in a statement published on its news website. It coincides with Mauritania-Algeria Joint High Commission convening in Algiers. These meetings come amid a shift in geopolitical landscape on the regional and international scene.
