Boy, 15, stabbed during lunchtime fight in Nottingham school

A 15-year-old boy was rushed to the hospital with serious stab wounds after an attack at Nottingham University Academy of Science and Technology

A teenage boy has been rushed to hospital after he was stabbed during an attack at his school.

A 15-year-old boy was knifed at Nottingham University Academy of Science and Technology (NUAST) in Dunkirk Road at 1.30pm on Thursday.

Another 15-year-old boy has been arrested at the scene,police said.

A Nottinghamshire Police spokesman said: ‘The incident was reported to us at around 1.36pm at Nottingham University Academy of Science and Technology (NUAST) in Dunkirk Road.

‘The two pupils are known to each other and there is no information at this point that this is linked to the national ‘School Wars’ social media posts published yesterday.’

Start your day informed with Metro's News Updates newsletter or get Breaking News alerts the moment it happens.Superintendent Chris Pearson said: ‘This is obviously an unsettling incident to occur on school grounds,and we are working closely with NUSA.‘A 15-year-old boy has sustained a stab injury and been sent to QMC for treatment.‘His injuries are currently believed to be serious.‘His family will be supported by specially trained officers while a thorough investigation is underway. A 15-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with this incident.‘We know this is likely to cause alarm and distress across our local community especially for parents and pupils in the area.‘What we know so far is that both victim and suspect are known to each other and there is no information to say this is linked to the national ‘School Wars’ social posts.‘I also want to stress that there is no wider threat to any other pupils at the school. We will be working closely with the school over the coming days to establish what has happened.’It came after a man in his 20s was arrested in connection with the viral ‘school wars’ trend which encouraged pupils to ‘be violent’ towards each other.Police were called to the scene at 1.36pm on Thursday.(Picture: UKNIP)Two suspects,a man in his 20s and a 15-year-old boy,have been arrested on suspicion of encouraging or assisting in crime.They are believed to be the first arrests in connection with the trend,which Metro was the first to reveal,which told pupils to bring compasses and combs to fight each other.Parents across London were told to pick up their children from the school gates,as teenagers were told to ‘jug and bang’ pupils from different schools if you were on Team Blue or Team Red.Anyone with information about the stabbing is asked to call 101.
