Three police officers were shot dead and two critically injured while serving a warrant in rural Pennsylvania.
A suspect opened fire at the officers around Haar and Emig roads in North Codorus Township in York County shortly after 2pm today.
Two officers were transported to Wellspan York Hospital and are in critical but stable condition,said Pennsylvania State Police Commissioner Col Christopher Paris.
The identities of the three officers who were killed have not been released.

Officers went to the scene to follow up on a ‘domestic-related’ investigation,said Paris.
The suspect was initially reported to be dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. But authorities said the suspect was actually shot dead by police.
‘Please send prayers to the officers and those involved in the shooting in York County,’ wrote Lieutenant Governor Austin Davis on X.
‘As we learn more,follow all guidance from police and stay away from the area.’

Governor Josh Shapiro went to the scene.
‘This is an absolutely tragic and devastating day for your county and for the entire Commonwealth of Pennsylvania,’ he said during a news conference.
‘(We) grieve for the loss of life of the three precious souls who served this county,served this commonwealth and served this country.
‘We continue to pray for the full recovery of those who are dealing with their wounds.’

Officials did not disclose a motive for the shooting.
Hospitals in the county and schools in the Spring Grove School District were locked down.
WellSpan York Hospital was treating two victims from the shooting who are in serious condition.
‘Enhanced security protocols are in place at the hospital,spokesperson Maggi Barton told Fox News.

The FBI and the Department of Alcohol,Tobacco,Firearms and Explosives responded to the scene to support local law enforcement,said US Attorney General Pam Bondi.
‘Violence against law enforcement is a scourge on our society and never acceptable,’ she wrote on X.
‘Pray for the officers involved.’
The crime scene is about 115 miles west of Philadelphia.
