Lighting engineer to the stars Mark Gibbon has allegedly been in a relationship with his own daughter-in-law who he is now accused of trying to drown in a swimming pool near Disney World.
The 62-year-old,who has put on lighting for Mick Jagger and Ed Sheeran,was staying with family at the Solterra Resort in Florida when an argument is said to have broken out over a will.
Gibbon,a granddad from Beaconsfield,Buckinghamshire,allegedly tried to push his daughter-in-law,Jasmine Wyld,under the water,according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.
His nine-year-old granddaughter attempted to save her mum and jumped into the pool,but Gibbon pushed her away,police said.
It was revealed by the Daily Mail that Gibbon and Ms Wyld have been in a relationship for the last two years after both of their marriages broke down. Jasmine shares two children with Gibbon’s son Alex,who is said to be estranged from his father.

The resort describes its properties as ‘luxury vacation homes just minutes from Walt Disney World’ (Picture: Polk County Sheriff’s Office)‘They went to Florida two years ago and have been to Budapest where she posted pictures of them together like a couple.‘I don’t know for sure what happened on this holiday and why Mark has apparently tried to drown her.‘But I have been told that Jasmine was unhappy that they have been in a relationship for a few years and she is not named in his will.’Two years ago Alex Gibbon,34,pleaded guilty to hitting his father with an £80,000 Porsche after he separated from Ms Wyld.Alex also pleaded guilty to harassing Wyld,according to the Times.Detectives gave Ms Wyld’s perspective of the pool incident in their arrest report: ‘She advised that she could not breathe and believed that she was going to drown.
Jasmine Wyld who was allegedly nearly drowned by father-in-law Mark Gibbon‘[The victim] advised that she had to fight Mark in order to get away from him and from under the water but he kept pushing her back under.’Two women are said to have told Gibbon they had called police which made him stop the attempted drowning,and he was taken into custody.A witness told officers she ‘observed him push the victim under the water and hold her there multiple times’ and watched as he ‘scratched her on her chest’,according to US website People.He is reported to have admitted to police he pushed his daughter-in-law under the water,but he denied trying to drown her.
