The relief teams of the Ertiqaa Association for Community Development in Gaza completed on Wednesday the distribution of 500 food baskets for the benefit of the most vulnerable families in various regions of the Gaza Strip. This initiative was launched by the Rabat-based Bayt Mal Al-Qods Acharif Agency, the financial branch of Al-Qods Committee chaired by King Mohammed VI.

The operation, conducted in several phases, benefited displaced families in Al-Mawasi (Khan Younis),in the central province,in the central camps, and in Gaza City.

The initiative, launched by the Bayt Mal Al-Qods Acharif Agency,is funded by the Moroccan Association for Support to Reconstruction in Palestine, with the contribution of the Morocco-Palestine Solidarity Association.

This humanitarian action is part of Morocco’s ongoing – both official and popular – support for the Palestinian cause,in response to the unprecedented humanitarian crisis affecting the Gaza Strip since October 2023.

The objective is to enhance food security for families affected by bombings, mass displacement, and infrastructure destruction, while easing their suffering in a context marked by shortages and isolation.

Last May,Bayt Mal Al-Qods Acharif Agency had disbursed the first installment of the budget for a project to provide prosthetics to 23 amputee children in Gaza,in coordination with the Palestinian Ministry of Social Development in Ramallah and with the support of the Moroccan Ministry of Solidarity,Social Integration, and Family.

The agency is also continuing its efforts in the field of education,by equipping Al-Azhar University in Gaza with cloud servers and a distance learning platform to meet the challenges of accessing education during wartime.

It has also funded registration scholarships for students at the King Hassan II College of Agricultural Sciences, and enabled eight of them to continue their studies in Rabat at the Hassan II Agronomic and Veterinary Institute (IAV).

These multiple interventions confirm Morocco’s active role as a credible and compassionate humanitarian actor, combining state-level diplomacy that seeks peace with on-the-ground action focused on the real needs of the Palestinian population. The approach of the Al-Qods Committee, under the leadership of King Mohammed VI,thus combines emergency aid, development support, and educational cooperation.
