The Moroccan football team delivered a confident performance ahead of the African Cup of Nations in December with back-to-back friendly victories over Tunisia and Benin.

The Atlas Lions showed tactical discipline, attacking flair and promising new talent in the new stadium of Fez which hosted the two games.

In the North African derby,Morocco outperformed Tunisia 2-0,with Achraf Hakimi breaking the deadlock in the 80th minute, followed by El Kaabi who sealed the win in stoppage time.

The match highlighted Morocco’s ability to remain patient and break down a compact Tunisian defense. Regragui’s side controlled possession and tempo, with midfielders like Azzedine Ounahi and Sofyan Amrabat dictating play.

In their second friendly,Morocco won over Benin 1-0. The decisive moment came in first-half stoppage time when Ayoub El Kaabi unleashed a spectacular scissor kick from inside the box. The goal, already being hailed as one of the best of the international break, underlined Kaabi’s sharp form and instinctive finishing.

With these results,Morocco extends its unbeaten run and continues to build momentum. The team’s defensive solidity, midfield control, and attacking options make them one of the most complete sides heading into AFCON 2025.

With the 12th place in the FIFA ranking, the win against Benin also marks Morocco’s 12th consecutive victory, the longest streak in Atlas Lion’s history.
