Teenage boy killed in Manchester with local pub cordoned off

A murder investigation has been launched after a teenage boy died in Manchester.

The incident took place in the Nevin Road area of New Moston,at around 5pm today.

Three people have been arrested and are currently in custody.

A large cordon is in place around Nevin Road,with a second cordon outside the Fairway Inn pub,only a few minutes’ walk away.

An air ambulance helicopter landed in Nuthurst Park as part of the emergency response to the incident.

Start your day informed with Metro's News Updates newsletter or get Breaking News alerts the moment it happens.Superintendent Marcus Noden said: ‘This is a distressing and heart-breaking incident where a boy has lost his life.A police cordon is also around the nearby Fairway Inn (Picture: JMP Press)‘We are still trying to establish the circumstances around the incident and have a number of scenes in place.’Greater Manchester Police said the boy’s family is being supported by its officers.They are appealing for anyone who saw what happened to get in touch.A spokesperson for the force added: ‘Officers are looking for information or eye witness accounts from anyone who was in the Nevin Road area of New Moston at around 5pm today quoting log 2250 of 8/6/25.‘Information can be reported by calling 101 or anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.‘You can also use the reporting tools on our website – always call 999 in an emergency.‘We will bring updates as we get them as the investigation continues.’
