Morocco takes part in 2025 African chiefs of defense conference co-hosted by U.S. & Kenya

A Moroccan military delegation,led by Brigadier General Abdelkrim Najjar,took part in the 2025 African Chiefs of Defense Conference co-organized by U.S. Africa Command and Kenya in Nairobi (May 28-29) under the theme: “Strengthening African Security,Sustaining Unity of Effort.”

The conference was an opportunity for senior military officials from across Africa to discuss topics such as countering transnational threats,terrorism,maritime security,U.S. & African partnerships and expertise-sharing.

Participants reviewed ways of fostering regional stability and dialogue to advance collective security efforts as well as emerging threats,such as the growing influence of malign actors and the evolving terrorist landscape.

The Moroccan delegation took part in various seminars and round-tables,focusing on several topics,including “Bilateral and regional relations to promote security and stability”.

The delegation highlighted the contributions of the Royal Armed Forces in confronting cross-border threats and combating terrorism,as well as the Kingdom’s efforts in military training for the benefit of African countries,contributing to the reinforcement of joint defense capabilities.

On the sidelines of the conference,the Moroccan delegation was received by Chief of Kenya’s Defense forces General Charles Muriu Kahariri,who expressed his country’s willingness to strengthen military cooperation with Morocco as Nairobi has just inaugurated its first ever embassy in Rabat,opening up a new chapter in relations between the two countries following Kenya’s support of the Kingom’s territorial integrity.
