India’s Samta Metals & Alloys,a subsidiary of the Indian Samta Group,is building an aluminum & copper recycling plant in the Atlantic Free Zone,located in the city of Kenitra,Morocco.
An investment of $70 million will be injected in this eco-friendly factory to be built over a 36,600-sq-m area. It is expected to be operational by 2026 and uses renewable energy in the production of its green metal brands.
The recycling plant is expected to create several job opportunities. It aims to recover 19,200 tons of scrap copper and 27,540 tons of aluminum scrap annually for a targeted initial capacity of 35,000 TPA of refined aluminum ingots and copper rod coils.
Production will cater the local automotive,aeronautical,and energy Industries. This project,which supports Morocco’s circular economy,will contribute to reducing greenhouse emissions and carbon footprints of businesses and communities.
