Morocco denies access to three Spanish pro-Polisario advocates

North Africa PostMarch 31,2025 3:05 am

Morocco has asked three Spanish pro-Polisario leftists’ activists to go back onboard the same flight that brought them to Laayoune’s airport in the Sahara.

The three activists are known for their pro-separatism stands and came equipped with Polisario flags as part of a mission sugarcoated in “monitoring human rights.”

The group is the third to be deported on arrival after a group of EU MEPs,who attempted to back separatism in the Sahara territory. Another group of three Spanish jurists were also asked to go home in the same airport.

The repetitive attempts point at a new tactic by pro-Polisario separatists to force their way into the Sahara territory,in provocative attempts that have been met with indifference by international media and credible rights NGOs.

They were either mis-led by the Polisario and Algerian propaganda depicting Laayoune as a “terra nullius” or sought media attention,as they shared videos of their access ban.

Morocco is practicing its sovereignty over the territory and has the right to deny access to those backing the armed Algerian proxy, known as the Polsiario.
