The Republic of Slovakia has voiced firm support for the Autonomy plan offered by Morocco under its sovereignty,saying the plan is a basis for reaching a definitive solution to the Sahara regional conflict.
The supportive stand comes in a joint statement issued Thursday in Rabat following the meeting of Slovak foreign minister Juraj Blanár with Moroccan peer Nasser Bourita.
The Central European country also praised “the serious and credible” efforts made by Morocco to advance the political process to reach a just,lasting,and mutually acceptable political solution to the Sahara issue based on UN Security Council resolutions,including the resolution adopted October 31st,2024,said the joint statement.
Slovakia also pledged to continue to support Morocco’s interests within the European Union and triangular cooperation initiatives between the Visegrád Group and Morocco for the benefit of the African continent.
Visiting Slovak Deputy Prime Minister & Minister of Defense,Robert Kaliňák was received the same day in Rabat by Morocco’s Minister Delegate in charge of the National Defense Administration Abdeltif Loudyi.
They discussed bilateral relations and cooperation prospects in defense industry which is gaining momentum in Morocco which has attracted several foreign investors in the sector.
