Person dies suddenly inside PureGym after 'medical incident'

A person has died inside a PureGym after suffering a medical incident.

Staff and gym goers tried to save the person at the branch in Weston-super-Mare on Wednesday but emergency services had to be called.

Despite their best efforts,the person died at the scene inside the gym.

Because of the unexpected death,the 24/7 branch was forced to close for the day.

A PureGym spokesperson said: ‘We can confirm that very sadly a member died at PureGym Weston-Super-Mare yesterday morning.

‘Our gym team and other members promptly assisted the individual,using our emergency red help point to call for further assistance.

‘Paramedics arrived swiftly,but despite their best efforts the member sadly passed away.

‘We extend our sincere condolences to their family and friends.’

South Western Ambulance Service has been contacted for comment.
