Morocco Under-20 football national team sealed top spot in Group B with a commanding win over Tunisia 3-1 on Wednesday and advanced to the quarter-finals of CAF U20 Africa Cup of Nations currently hosted by Egypt.
The goals of the young Atlas Lions were scored by Ayman Arguige (44th minute),Ismail Bakhty (86th minute) and Jones El Abdellaoui (92nd minute),while the Tunisian goal was netted by Anis Doubal (53rd minute).
Morocco started the brighter of the two sides,probing Tunisia’s backline with pace and purpose. The young Atlas Lions’ win guaranteed them top place of their group with seven points,followed by Nigeria with five points.
It was a deserved win for the Moroccans who finished the group stage unbeaten,with their strong defensive unit and forward line proving decisive.
For Tunisia,it’s another missed opportunity. They finished third in the group with three points. They now hope to qualify for the quarter-finals as one of the two best third-placed teams.
