The May Day bank holiday is upon us and if you’re lucky you’re one of the many Brits enjoying an extra day off.
As with all bank holidays,there are businesses who decide to close all together or open for a shorter period of time.
This,of course,could include your local supermarket.
But don’t worry,to make sure you don’t turn up to find the shutters down,we’ve taken a look at today’s opening times for ASDA,Co-op,Aldi,Tesco,Iceland,Lidl,Morrisons,Waitrose and Sainsbury’s.

ASDA stores will be open as usual this bank holiday weekend.
Opening times can vary by store,so if you want to double check individual store opening times you can do so using the store locator.
Co-op stores tend to run on the smaller side,and they will be open this weekend (Picture: Peter Dazeley/Getty Images)
Co-ops can vary a lot in size,from medium-sized stores to teeny tiny petrol station spots.
Co-op will be open as usual over the May bank holiday with the majority of Co-op convenience stores being open from 7am-10pm.
As always,check your local Co-op’s opening hours with the supermarket’s branch finder.
Aldi stores will be open over the May Day bank holiday weekend (Picture: PA)
Aldi will be open during the following hours on each day during this May Day bank holiday weekend:
Saturday: 8am – 10pm
Sunday: 10am – 4pm
Bank Holiday Monday: 8am – 8pm

Iceland stores will be open as usual during this bank holiday weekend.

Lidl will be open this weekend and will follow regular opening hours.

Open times at Morrisons stores will vary this weekend (Picture: Getty Images)
Morrisons has said that its Scottish stores will be open as usual and the rest of the stores will be open from 7am to 8pm. Some other stores will be open slightly longer.
Just punch in your postcode on the Morrison store locator tool to check opening times.
Sainsbury’s,like most supermarkets,will be open this bank holiday (Picture: Getty Images)
Most Sainsbury’s stores will be open from 8am until 8pm on bank holiday Monday and the smaller convenience stores will be open from 7am until 11pm.

Tesco will operate its normal trading hours during this bank holiday weekend.
